Exam Format and Pattern
MRCP Part 1 consists of two exams with 100 questions each that follow a pattern of multiple-choice questions in the best-of-five-question format. Each exam is 3 hours long and takes place on the same day.

The exam is given in an exam centre for international students. UK students take part in the exam from their personal devices under the scrutiny of a proctoring service. The candidates can attempt the MRCP Part 2 if they successfully pass the Part 1 examination. In the event of failure, it can be retaken a maximum of six times.
