Are you a medical professional targeting the MRCP PACES? If so, there is an important update for you. According to the Royal College of Physicians’ official website, the booking window for the 2025 Diet 3 exam will open on June 16, 2025, and will close on June 23, 2025. The above-mentioned exam’s assessment period is scheduled between September and early December 2025.
What is MRCP PACES Diet 3?
PACES stands for Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills. It is the third and final part of the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) examination, designed to test the clinical competency of doctors in real-world settings. MRCP PACES evaluates a candidate’s ability to interact with patients, conduct examinations, and diagnose/make clinical decisions.
The exam is designed to assess a candidate’s clinical skills in a comprehensive, practical environment. This is critical because as a physician, your ability to diagnose, communicate, and maintain professionalism matters as much as theoretical knowledge.
MRCP PACES Eligibility Criteria
Candidates will have a maximum of six attempts at any part of the MRCP (UK) examination and cannot continue if they reach this level without passing.
Candidates who cleared the MRCP Part 1 exam more than seven years ago can now continue to apply for the MRCP Part 2 written and PACES, provided they have had fewer than six attempts.
The candidates are advised to have at least 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital after receiving the primary medical qualification.
